It's June 1st

June 1st... A day which has lot of starts for Kerala.. Schools reopens after vacation/summer hols.. Newspapers will carry pictures of wailing tots who are being dragged to school by the Moms, or those of slightly bigger kids in their neat new uniforms elated trudging to school excitedly ..t o show off their new stuff...

It also marks arrival of Monsoons!!! Monsoon season  in Kerala is officially from June 1..

Rains!!! It brings you the fond memories of childhood where we trudge to school in all new stuff trying not to get drenched yet show off the new umbrella,.

It brings the memories of college days where umbrellas were thrown away at times, and we crazily got drenched ...

It brings memories of those romantic long rides in rain on Bangalore streets... those never ending conversations!

The days in Mumbai locals where rains create havoc, yet the picture of a beautiful Mumbai comes in.. As Wake Up SID says.. Mumbai rains are different, it is beautiful... You don't believe me?? Try taking a drive from Mumbai to Lonavala on a rainy day.. you will know...

June 1st brings up all these memories..and many more.. Another one fro June 1st..day for nostalgia...

Silence

How powerful is silence??? We have heard of wars being won with silence, hearts won, and at the same time  opportunities lost and life changed due to silence

Silence can be soothing yet torturing, it can be powerful yet a weakness, it can be an escape route yet a way to doom

Silence maintains peace outside but kills you inside... generally silence is a sign of a raging storm within it...

Despite what we learn, silence is not golden ..it is an iron wall,, break the silence and break the walls blocking your happiness

What do you do?

What do you do- I used to get this question quite often when I was in India. After shifting to Oman, it did not surface much- because ..well, we will keep that for another day.

So back to the question : What do you do? Well, I do a lot of things... i wake early morning, get my ktichen running-breakfast ( which is a namesake, i admit), pack lunch for hubby, tiffin for daughter's school, tea for us, special breakfast for my toddler..and simultaneously get my elder one ready for school..

Well, that everyone does..what do you do for a living? Ok, about work, yes I freelance...

Freelance..what is that? Then I go about explaining what it is..nothing wrong so far... But the next...

So you sit in front of computer type something and then it is work..you are paid for it.

Now whatdo I say here?Believe me, i tried explaining many times that it is not so..you have to work the same way as you are in an office, attend meetings, meet deadlines, answer client's email,calls and what not..but it never goes well

So now..i just smile and nod my head and say ..Yeah. ! I smirk in my mind to theirs thinking 'must be data entry :-) '
